About us

We are people using aspects of traditional Afrikan culture to improve the world. We are aware that some aspects of traditional culture do not mesh easily with contemporary society.

We embrace the following traditional rituals:

Libation

Thanking and worshiping The Almighty for being The Almighty; remembering, recognizing, and thanking our ancestors for their struggles, sacrifices, and accomplishments.  Normally done privately at the begining of activities although public libation ceremonies may occur at any time in an event. Click here for our Public Libation Statement or here for the Kwanzaa Libation Statement.

The Blessing of the Head

- A prayer ritual involving one praying for blessings upon another while placing their hands upon that person's head. Normally done by an adult upon the head of a child.  Click here to read the ritual.

Rites of Passage

- The structured passage of individuals through various educational, social, physical, and spiritual processes to encourage the development of a stronger, more competent, and more conscious citizen. Normally done to guide children into adulthood.

We invite all of our members, guests, well wishers, and enemies to express thier relationship with the Almighty during our activities since nothing is more important than a relationship with the Almighty. Walk in Faith.

Our values:

(Each of our Presidents develop the values by which thier administration will abide by. These values are the guiding principles for President Seko VArner)

First and foremeost we find the utmost value in a relationship with the Almighty, the deeper the relationship - the better. All of our other values and pursuits pale in comparasion with the value we place on a relationship with the Almighty. As with some of the spritual expressions found in traditional Afrika, an outsider may not readly see the recognition and guidance of the Almighty in our pursuits. The Almighty remains in the forefront of all our activities. We have membership and supporters who observe different religious and spiritual directions. We remain in a direction that is Anti-evil and Pro-Godly and honor each of the religious/spiritual directions.

We value various aspects of traditional Afrikan culture. We acknowledge that all cultural expressions have benefits and faults. We do not believe that our cultural ties or expressions make us superior or inferior to any other cultural expressions. We also embrace cultual practices and ties that are not necessarily traditional Afrikan practices.

We value improvement. We believe that things and activities that improve one's life are far better than things and activities that have no affect uponones life or things and activities that worsen your life. We believe in the traditional Afrikan wisdom that directs one to seek improvement "When the student is ready the teracher will appear." So seek improvement; When the traveler is ready the road will be opened.

We value people. We value pursuits that improve people. We will abstain from pursuits that destroy people.

We value families. We will be involved in pursuits that stregthen the Parent-Child bond and the hierarchy that places the parents as the leaders and decision makers of thier family. Our ideal family involves a Father figure and a Mother figure and children who are being raised to be effective fathers and mothers in thier time. We value all families and our activities will be suited for all family formations.

We value our Ancestry. We focus on our Afrikan ancestry while embracing and valuing our blended Ancestry. We recognize and honor our ancestry, those who have gone on to be spiritually closer with the Almighty in all of our activities. We worship, thank and praise the Almighty Creator; we thank and honor and recognize our Ancestors, and we serve those of us who are alive today. We embrace an approach that places the Almighty first, our ancestors are then honored, our elders are then honored, parents-teachers-leaders are supported, children are loved, and The Almighty is again worshipped.

We value Love, we don't value hate.

We value creativity. We value the creative ways that people of Afrikan descent have embraced thier lives. We have created nations, names, cutural expressions, sciences, approaches, and paradigms. We also love the creativity of other cultures.

We value Faith: Faith in the Almighty, Faith in ourselves, an embrace of the Faith detailed by N'Guzo Saba, Faith in an improved future for people of Afrikan descent, Faith in an improved future for America, and Faith in an improved future for the world.
